Faith
Building Block 4
The Right to Use Jesus' Name
by Pastor John Hamel
“And in that day ye
shall ask Me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall
ask the Father in My name, He will give it you.” (John 16:23)
We have seen that
the Believer is a brand New Creation.
The Believer is the righteousness of God.
The Believer has been elevated to a
position of high authority in the spirit realm.
In this Faith
Building Block we will study the Believer’s right to use the Name of
Jesus. Once we fully understand the power that is behind that Name
and our right to use it, we will see astounding faith victories.
I have had many
tell me that I have enjoyed faith victories because I am a Minister.
However, this is not true. I have enjoyed faith victories because I
am a BELIEVER, not because I am a Minister.
All Believers
possess the authority to enjoy faith victories
through the use of Jesus’ Name. This is what Jesus promises all of
His disciples.
“And he [Jesus]
said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and
preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized
shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And THESE SIGNS
SHALL FOLLOW THEM THAT BELIEVE; In my name shall they cast out devils; they
shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents [accidentally];
and if they drink any deadly thing [accidentally], it shall not hurt them;
they shall lay hands on the sick [on purpose], and they shall recover.”
(Mark 16:15-18)
Jesus said signs,
wonders and miracles would follow all Believers. He did not say they
would follow only Ministers. He did not say these signs would follow
only His twelve Apostles either.
Jesus said that miraculous signs
would follow all Believers.
All Believers have
the right to use Jesus’ Name and expect miraculous results.
As a matter of fact, Jesus said His followers, corporately, could reproduce
all of the miraculous works He produced.
“Verily, verily, I
say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also;
and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father.”
(John 14:12)
Some argue this
point, of course. We have all heard the words of doubt and unbelief
wrongly spoken by the well meaning unlearned who insist that this verse
just simply could not mean what it says.
However, all the arguing,
doubt and unbelief in the world cannot change the Power of God’s written
Word.
“For what if some
did not believe? shall their unbelief make the
faith of God without effect? God forbid: yea,
let God be true, but every man a liar...” (Romans 3:3,4)
If Jesus said that
His followers can produce the same miraculous works that He produced, then
it’s true. The Name of Jesus belongs
to all Believers today.
The Name of Jesus has the same
power and authority today as it did in Bible days. Because Jesus
never changes, His Name and the right to use His Name never changes.
“Jesus Christ the
same, yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)
The Name of Jesus
belongs to His family. The family members who don’t believe won’t
benefit from its power. Jesus said only the family members who
BELIEVE will benefit from its power.
Someone said, “But
Pastor John, what if I use Jesus’ Name and it doesn’t work?” I said,
“What if you use Jesus’ Name and it does work?”
All Believers have
the authority to use His Name in prayer and against Satan and demon powers, expecting it to produce
results.
We
have numerous New Testament witnesses that the Blood-backed Name of Jesus is
to be used for prayer (John 16:23), salvation (Acts 4:12), against sickness
(Acts 3:16), against Satan and demon powers (Mark 16:17), etc., for Jesus'
Name is the Name above all names.
"Wherefore
God hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a Name which is above every name:
That at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and
things in Earth, and things under the Earth." (Philippians 2:9-10)
This is the fourth Faith Building Block that belongs to
us.
Don’t doubt it and
live without it.
Believe it and receive it.
Don’t analyze it. Utilize it.
Possess it. Wield
it victoriously.
Make this Faith confession daily. “I am a brand
new creation in Christ. I am the righteousness of God. I am
seated in a place of authority with Christ. I have the right to use
Jesus’ Name.”
