Accessing
Jesus' Miracle Power
It’s All Up to You
by Pastor John Hamel
“And a certain
woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many
things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing
bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the
press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his
clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was
dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
"And
Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him,
turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? … And he
said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and
be whole of thy plague.” (Mark 5:25-30,34)
Whenever a human
being reaches out to Jesus with their faith, deliberately placing a demand
on His miracle power, supernatural things happen.
Many people come to
Jesus out of curiosity. However, curiosity does not access Jesus’
miracle power.
Only faith is able
to access Jesus’ power and receive miraculous intervention.
If you need a
healing miracle, a family miracle, a money miracle or any kind of miracle,
you need to know how to access Jesus’ miracle power.
It’s not all up
to Jesus.
In the Bible
narrative you just read, it is revealed that both Jesus’ “virtue” (power)
and the woman’s “faith” working together caused her to be healed.
Let’s look at the part she played. If you’ll do as she did, you’ll
get what she got – a real miracle!
The first thing
this woman did was to hear of Jesus’ willingness to help all
people (vs27). You have already taken that step by reading to this
point.
The second thing
she did was to speak her
faith. She said, “If I may touch but His clothes, I shall be whole”
(vs28).
If she had said, “I believe Jesus heals, but He may not heal
me” she would not have accessed Jesus’ power.
Words of doubt and
unbelief cancel the power of God. (Mark 6:1-6)
If you need a miracle say, “I believe God is good and He will
give me my miracle.”
God is a God of faith.
He responds to faith alone. He does
not respond to doubt, fear or even need. He responds to faith and
faith alone. (Hebrews 11:6)
He cares about your need but He can only
meet your need when you expect Him to. That’s all faith is,
really. It’s expecting God to help you.
This woman was
expecting a miracle. Her expectation was
fully realized.
Basically, this is
how that sickly, lonely, scared little woman tapped into Jesus’ Power. She HEARD
of Jesus’ willingness to help all who come to Him. She then SPOKE
right out loud what she expected to happen when she encountered Him.
You can do this and
receive a miracle as well. You’ve heard of Jesus here today. He
said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to
the Father but by Me.” (John 14:6)
Do you believe this? If
so, simply open your mouth and say, “Jesus, You’re
my choice.” (Romans 10:13)
God will hear you and receive you as
family. (John 1:12)
He’ll become your Father. (Matthew 6:6;
23:9)
Then tell Him exactly what you
need. Tell Him that you not only believe that He is able
to help you, but that you know He will.
That’s what this
lady did and she found herself accessing the same power that created the
Heavens and the Earth. (Colossians 1:16)
It’s up to you to access His
power with your faith.
God’s power is
ever-present. (Luke 5:17) However, just because it’s present doesn’t
mean it will benefit you.
You must plug in to His power by saying, “Father, I believe You are helping
me right now. I believe I receive. I reach out by faith,
expecting to see the miraculous, in Jesus’ Name.”
Someone said,
“Miracles don’t happen anymore – they’re all over.”
To which I
replied, “You’re half right. Miracles are all over – they're all over
the Earth – but you don’t see them because you don’t expect them.”
The secret is in
the EXPECTATION! You can do this.
