Say
"No" to Every Fear
God's
Love Will See You Through
by
Pastor John Hamel
“There is no fear in love; but
perfect love casts out fear: because fear hath torment. He that fears is
not made perfect in love.” (1John 4:18)
Are you afraid? Do you live a
life of fear? Some people are afraid of dying.
Some people are afraid of living. Others are afraid of failure, sickness,
people, demons, etc. Some are even afraid of God because they simply do not
understand how much He really loves them.
The Bible verse you just read
reveals that perfect love casts out fear. “Perfect love”
is actually a reference to God’s perfect love for you. Once you realize how
much God actually loves you, you’ll discover fear’s grip loosening and
releasing its illegal hold on you.
People become afraid when they do
not have the revelation of God’s promise to protect them and to provide for them. All who belong to God through acceptance
of Jesus Christ actually have a Blood Covenant
guaranteeing protection and provision.
This is what Jesus referred to at
the Last Supper when He said, “This is the cup of the New Covenant in My
Blood, which is shed for you.” (Luke 22:20)
Paul, the Apostle, also made
reference to the Believer’s Blood Covenant of provision and protection when
he wrote, “In Him we have redemption through His Blood …” (Ephesians
1:7)
The Bible clearly reveals that
Jesus, through the shedding of His Blood, has redeemed all Believers from
the “Curse of the Law.” (Romans 8:2; Galatians
3:13,14,29)
For a better understanding of the
“Curse of the Law” you can read the Book of Deuteronomy, chapter 28, verses
15-68, to see what it actually is. There you will find so many of the
things people live in fear of. These are all things that Jesus promises to
keep from you in exchange for your faith in and
obedience to Him.
When reading Deuteronomy, chapter
28, check out verses 1-14 as well. These are all the blessings (or
advantages) of obedience.
God is faithful. He can be trusted
to protect and provide for His children. (Psalm 35:27; 91; Isaiah 1:19;
54:17)
When Satan, the liar, tells you how much you have to fear in
life, stand up strong like a bulldog and tell him, “Up your nose with a
rubber hose. My God is faithful. He promises me long life and abundance.
I’ve got His Word on it. So back off NOW in Jesus’ Name.”
He will leave! (James 4:7) Jesus’ Name frightens him.
When a Believer in Jesus gets a
hold of God’s perfect love, when they really understand all that He has
agreed to do for them, fear’s back is broken. That’s what the Bible means
by, “Perfect love casts out fear.” Understanding and believing in
our Father’s perfect love simply leaves no place for fear.
If you have not yet entered into
your Blood Covenant with God through Jesus,
simply say, “Jesus, You’re my choice. Satan, I renounce you in His Name.”
(Romans 10:13)
God will hear you and will move
immediately to take up for you with His provision and protection. Then,
shut off that TV for a while and ignore those embellished newspaper
headlines. They’re designed to keep you in fear. (2Corinthians 4:4)
Pick up a New Testament and every
time you find the name “God” or “Jesus”, replace them with the word “Love”.
That will feed your faith and literally starve your fears
to death!
