God
Is Never Your Problem
God Is Always Your Solution!
by Pastor John Hamel
“The
thief [Satan] cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and to
destroy: I [Jesus] am come that they might have life and that they might
have it MORE ABUNDANTLY.” (John 10:10)
What
you just read is one of the greatest revelations in the entire Bible.
Jesus said that it’s Satan, the Thief, who is the source of all that is
stealing, killing and destroying in the Earth, NOT GOD.
Jesus
then went on to say that He, Himself, came for the exact opposite of
stealing, killing and destroying. He came to give us all we have need
of, to give life and to crush the curse of destruction.
(1 John 3:8) Jesus calls this “Abundant Life.”
If
you don't have the revelation that God is not the source of your problems,
the Bible is a locked booked to you. However, once you have the
revelation of the goodness of God and His willingness to help you that lock
is broken and the windows of Heaven open on your behalf.
The
revelation of God being your solution, not your problem, is one that
the people of the Old Testament did not have. However, we do have it
today and we are responsible for it.
Possibly
some unenlightened, albeit sincere, religious leaders and religious
people have told you that God is the source of all your troubles.
Well, I'm happy to tell you that they are wrong, sincerely wrong.
Many
New Testament-illiterate, yet well-meaning religious people do blame God
for all the evil in the world. They say misinformed things like, “He’s wrathful,” “You really made Him angry,”
“He teaches you how to live right by making you sick,”
“He took your baby’s life because of what you did 10 years
ago,” etc., etc., etc.
Well,
I have GOOD NEWS. Jesus revealed that it’s Satan who does all
those cruel things to God’s creation only to turn around and blame God for
it.
Sadly,
our GOOD God takes a lot of heat for what the HATEFUL devil does.
This is why we absolutely must become familiar with the New
Testament. It is there that the love nature of God is revealed.
God
is not a “punitive” or a punishing God. God is a Forgiver and a Blesser. God is NOT the damner.
Satan is the damner. Jesus said God is the Blesser
and that settles that. The Bible is the final Authority on the
subject of God. Stick with what the Bible says and you’ll never go
wrong.
Personally,
I’ve tried religion and I’ve tried the Bible. I speak experientially
when I say, “The Bible is better. Far, far better.”
Did
you know that the Bible calls you a work of God? That’s right.
You’re a real “piece of work.” God’s work. Look at what the
Apostle Paul wrote.
"For we are his workmanship, created in
Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should
walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10)
You
are a work of God and the Bible says that His mercies are over all of His
works. Let's read that.
“The Lord is gracious …full of compassion; slow
to anger…of great mercy. The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies
are over all his works.” (Psalm 145:8,9)
Now,
let's look at the whole equation.
A)
You are a work of God. (Eph.2:10)
B)
God's mercies are over all of His works.(Ps.145:9)
A plus
B equals C.
C)
His mercy is over you right now, not His wrath.
Simple
stuff, huh? If you will ask forgiveness, in Jesus' Name, for all
those things He knows you’re ashamed of, He will forgive you
and clear your conscience of all guilt. (Psalm 103:12,13; Hebrews 9:14)
Once
you do that, He wants you to begin operating in faith.
Faith is simply confidence in God's goodness. He wants you to have
confidence that He will help you with what you’re going through.
There is no pit so deep that He can't get you out of it. He said
so in His Love Letter to you, the New Testament.
"There hath no temptation
[test/hardship] taken you but such as is common to man: but God is
faithful, who will not suffer [allow] you to be tempted
[tested] above that ye are able; but will with the temptation [test/hardship] ALSO
MAKE A WAY TO ESCAPE, that ye may be able to bear it." (1Corinthians
10:13)
Excuse
my grammar but that ain't religion, Honey. That's the GOOD NEWS of God!
However, you must exercise
your own faith in order for Him to help you now. He is a God of Faith
and without our unleashing faith in Him, it is impossible to please Him.
(Hebrews 11:6) God is not moved by your needs. If He were, He
would have moved and met every one of your needs by now.
God is moved only by faith. Your
faith. You can only move Him with your faith.
This is how you
do that.
Pray, “Jesus, I choose
You as my Lord and Savior. I apologize to You if I’ve offended You, however
unintentional, by listening to religion and not to Your Word. Please
forgive me for blaming You for what the devil's been doing to me.
Please forgive me for my sins, too. Please give me wisdom for my situation. I’ll do
exactly as You reveal. In exchange for Your helping me, I will serve
You for the rest of my life according to the Bible. I'll also start
telling others about Your goodness. I won't let You take the
heat anymore when people start blaming You for what Jesus said the
devil's doing. In Jesus’ Name I pray.” (Take a look at John 16:23;
Romans 10:13; James 1:5-8.)
Remember,
God is the Blesser. Satan is the damner, but Jesus whipped the fire out of him for you.
(Hebrews 2:14)
Make
this your confession of faith ... “GOD’S NEVER MY PROBLEM. GOD’S
ALWAYS MY SOLUTION.”
Open
up your New Testament now. Every time you see the name
"God" or "Jesus" or the "Spirit," replace it
with the word "Love."
That's when the lock breaks.
The Bible then becomes an open Book of blessing!
