Have
You Done as Mary Did?
She Wishes You Would
by Pastor John Hamel
“And the third day
there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was
there: And both Jesus was called, and His disciples, to the
marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto Him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever He saith unto
you, do it. … Jesus saith unto them, Fill the water pots with water. …the water…was made wine…” (John
2:1-9)
I was raised in the
Catholic Church. That qualifies me to make the following
statement.
Just because you are a Catholic
does not always mean
you are a Christian.
This is a statement that upsets some good
Catholic people, I know. But if you will stay with me for a
minute I will explain, and you will see that you actually agree with me.
If you truly are a good Catholic, that is.
Here at the Wedding
Feast of Cana there was a sudden beverage shortage. Having raised
Him, Mary knew that Jesus was fully capable of remedying the situation. So she confronted Jesus about the
host’s need. Jesus made a comment that I won’t elaborate on here and
then Mary turned to the servants and said something very interesting.
She said, “Whatsoever
He saith unto you, do it.”
This statement of
Mary’s is interesting in that it is the absolute last thing spoken by her
in Scripture. From this point on she is silent.
In my
estimation these are the most powerful words ever spoken by the Blessed
Mother of our Lord Jesus.
“Whatsoever He
saith unto you, do it.”
She meant it,
too!
Mary
came to realize that when her little “God-Child become God-Man” said something, it was Gospel –
literally. After living with God in the flesh for over thirty
years, she came to realize one thing above all. When Jesus said to do
something, it was always profitable to obey Him –
Mother or no Mother.
Keeping this
thought in mind, let’s move on to something Mary would have heard Jesus
teach continually. I’ll use Jesus’ very words from the Holy
Scripture.
“Jesus answered and
said unto him [a Rabbi friend], Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a
man be Born Again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
Now, I’ll explain
what Jesus meant by “Born Again.”
The first time you
were born, you entered into this physical world through the person of your
Mother.
The second time you are born, or Born Again, you enter into
God’s Spiritual Kingdom through acceptance
of the Person of Jesus Christ.
This is so simple a child can
understand it.
Would you like to
guess who else fully understood the concept of being Born Again and
obeyed it?
That’s right, Mary, the Blessed Mother of our
Lord understood the concept and was Born Again.
You can be sure Mary was Born Again because her very last words recorded in
the Bible were “Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it.”
The only way for a
good Catholic to be a true Christian is to obey the Blessed Mother’s command to
obey the
Blessed Son.
All
good Catholics, in order to be true Christians, must say as Mary said one day, “Jesus, I choose You as my Lord and Savior.”
This expression of
faith in Christ as Savior birthed Mary into God's Spiritual Kingdom and it will do the
same for all good Catholics who follow her wonderful, Biblical
example.
"For
whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)
Some Catholics are
wrongly trusting in Catholic teaching and Catholic Sacraments alone to save them.
That’s what I was once
guilty of doing, as well.
Not the Blessed Mother of Jesus, though.
The Blessed Mother
of Jesus trusted in Jesus’ instruction to be Born
Again.
Some Catholics are
actually trusting in the Blessed Mother to save them.
However, even Mary didn’t look to
herself for salvation. Mary looked to Jesus for salvation.
Mary knew it
wasn’t her blood being shed for the remission of
sins.
Mary stood at the foot of the Cross and watched
Jesus shed His
Blood for the remission of the world's sins.
"And
almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without the shedding
of blood there is no remission for sin. ...so Christ was once offered to
bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the
second time without sin unto salvation." (Hebrews 9;22,28)
Mary
did not shed her blood for the sins of the
world.
Mary accepted Jesus’
Blood sacrifice for the sins of the world.
Have you done the
same?
Any
good Catholic who is going to follow Mary's wonderful example must accept
Christ's Blood sacrifice and be Born Again.
This
is precisely what Mary, the Blessed Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, did.
Now you know what I
meant by “Being a Catholic doesn’t always mean you’re a Christian.”
To be a Christian, you must be Born Again like Mary was Born Again.
Are you Born Again?
Just like me and just like
Mary, millions of good Catholics are Born Again.
As matter
of fact, the only Catholics you’ll find in Heaven are the
Born Again Catholics.
Jesus
said you simply cannot see the Kingdom of God unless you’re Born
Again.
Now, I didn’t say
the above. Mary and Jesus said it. I’m simply building upon what they said.
Mary said to do whatever Jesus said.
Jesus said, “You must be Born
Again.”
It takes one stubborn, disobedient Catholic to
disobey both Mary and Jesus.
As a matter of fact, it takes a rebellious Catholic to disobey both Mary
and Jesus.
Simply
say, “Jesus, I
believe the words of Your Blessed Mother. I choose You now as my Lord and
Savior, even as Mary chose You as her Lord and Savior. I choose to be Born
Again even as Mary chose to be Born Again.”
It’s just that
simple.
The Bible says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is
Lord, you will be saved from the penalty and the punishment of your sin.”
(Romans 10:9,10)
The Bible also says
that there’s no other name under Heaven by which a man or a woman can be
saved apart from Jesus’ Name.
(Acts 4:12)
That would
include Mary’s name.
I’m an obedient
Catholic.
Therefore, I’m going with
Mary, the Blessed Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, all the way.
I’m Born Again
today because she told me to do whatever
Jesus said to do.
Jesus
said, "You must be Born Again."
How about you? Have you accepted Jesus' and Mary's command to be
Born Again?
Average people,
prestigious people, Presidents, Priests, Prophets and Popes will all fare better
listening to Mary on this one.
Have
you done as Mary did? She wishes you
would.

Do
You Have What Mary Has?
She Said You Should
by Pastor John Hamel
“And the third day
there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was
there: And both Jesus was called, and His disciples, to the
marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto Him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever He saith unto
you, do it. … Jesus saith unto them, Fill the water pots with water. …the water…was made wine…” (John
2:1-9)
There is an
experience of Power that God
promises to all of His children.
We are going to talk
about that in a moment, but first I want you to notice I said He promises
this experience to all
of His “children.”
Jesus said the only way to become a child of God
is to be Born Again.
"Jesus
said, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot
see the Kingdom of God." (John 3:3)
I’ll explain.
The first time you
were born you were birthed into this
physical world through the person of your Mother. You entered the
natural world through the natural door of your Mother's womb.
The second time you
are born, or Born Again, you are birthed into the Family of God through acceptance of
Jesus as your Savior. You enter into the spiritual realm through the
spiritual door named "Jesus."
This is why the experience
of becoming a child of God is called being "Born
Again.”
You open your mouth
and say, “Jesus, You’re my choice” and you instantly
and effortlessly are birthed into the spirit realm and you become a child of God.
"But
as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on His Name." (John 1:12)
When a man or a
woman accepts Christ as their Savior, they are Born Again and become a son
or a daughter of God.
"Behold,
what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be
called the sons of God ... Beloved, now are we the sons of God..."
(1John 3:1-2)
Now that we are all
on the same page as to what it takes to become a child of God, let us move
on to the
promised experience of power for all of His Born Again children.
Mary
Had Power with God. All Born Again Catholics Can Have Power with God.
“But ye shall
receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…” (Acts 1:8)
These are the words
of Jesus. He spoke them to His Born Again followers
just moments before being taken back to Heaven.
Once
Jesus had ascended, His followers then returned to Jerusalem and
gathered in what is now referred to historically as “The Upper Room.”
There were about 120 people in that room. Some of
their names are actually given as follows.
“… they went up
into an upper room, where abode Peter, James, John, Andrew, Philip, Thomas,
Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus,
Simon Zelotes and Judas the brother of James …and
Mary the mother of Jesus ... the number of names together were about an
hundred and twenty.” (Acts 1:13-15)
Please
notice carefully who
was in that Upper Room with St. Peter, St. James, St. John, St. Andrew, St.
Philip, St. Thomas, St. Bartholomew,
St. Matthew, St. James, St. Simon and St. Judas.
Mary, the Born Again Blessed Mother of our Lord
was there in that room on that historic day.
Mary
was a child of God and therefore qualified for what was about to happen.
Notice
carefully what happened next!
“And when the day
of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And
suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it
filled all the house where they were sitting. …
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other
tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:1-4)
There is something
additional we must also make careful note of here.
This is the
absolute last time we ever see or hear from the Blessed Mother in the Bible and what was
she doing? She was receiving Holy Spirit
power and speaking in tongues with all the other Saints.
This experience of
Holy Spirit imparted power couldn’t possibly be for only the twelve
disciples as some religious scholars argue, because Mary was not one of the
original twelve disciples!
Also, there were 108 other Believers
in attendance who received that day.
There goes that old
argument!
Jesus said Holy Spirit
power is for all who believe.
“In the last day,
that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried,
saying, If any man thirst let him come unto Me and drink. He that believeth on me, as the
Scripture hath said, out of his
belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake
He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive …” (John
7:37-39)
This experience of
Holy Spirit imparted power is
for all who believe in Jesus and who are Born Again.
Mary, the Born
Again Blessed Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, received the Holy
Spirit Baptism with everyone else who received it that day.
As an obedient Born
Again Catholic, I, too, have received this experience of power as have
untold numbers of good Catholics and thousands of
Priests, Cardinals, Bishops, Friars, Monks and Nuns the world over.
It
is my understanding that Pope John
Paul II, who went to Heaven in 2005, had also received the Holy Spirit
Baptism and power. No doubt, he, too,
adhered to Mary’s command in our opening text, “Whatsoever He [Jesus]
saith unto you, do it."
All one must do to
have what Mary has is to first be Born Again as Mary was. I showed you
how to do that in our first lesson called "Have
You Done as Mary Did?"
Once
you have done as Mary did, submitting yourself to the New
Birth, you may then pray, “Father, please fill me with
Holy Spirit power, even as Mary
was filled with Holy Spirit power, in Jesus’ Name.”
Jesus promised His
Father would do as you ask.
"If
you know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more will your
Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?" (Luke
11:13).
You will speak in tongues
even as Mary spoke in tongues. (Acts 2:4)
Be sure to
disconnect from horoscopes, Tarot Cards and palm reading.
These are all occultic and New
Age activities. Unforgiveness and worship of statues and
other idols must
go as well.
These are all
behaviors that grieve the Holy Spirit causing Him to turn His face against
those who do such things.
"And
the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after
wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set My face against that
soul and will cut him off from amongst his people." (Leviticus 20:6)
Once you are
baptized with the Holy Spirit, praying in other tongues
or "in the
Spirit" is something you should do daily, even as I am sure Mary did.
Praying in other tongues
is a “Hotline to Heaven.”
Praying in other tongues
is praying “according to God’s Will.”
"The
Holy Spirit ... makes intercession through the saints according to the will
of God." (Romans 8:27)
Praying in other tongues
builds great confidence.
"But
you beloved, build yourselves up on your most holy faith by praying in the
Holy Spirit." (Jude 20)
Praying
in other tongues causes the Gifts of the
Spirit to go into operation.
The Holy Spirit
Baptism and power – Jesus’ Mother Mary has it.
Do you have what
Mary has? She said you should.

You Know Mary's Prayer Secret?
She Revealed You Could
by Pastor John Hamel
“And the third day
there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was
there: And both Jesus was called, and His disciples, to the
marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto Him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever He saith unto
you, do it. … Jesus saith unto them, Fill the water pots with water. …the water…was made wine…” (John
2:1-9)
All Catholics
believe in prayer.
Being raised in a Catholic
family myself, one of the first things I learned as
a boy in Catechism Class was that God’s heart was open to my prayer.
However, there are some things we must understand about prayer in order to
be effective in prayer.
Mary understood
some things about prayer. After all, she gave birth to and raised the One Who inspired the writing of
the Bible. Through the teachings of her Son she learned much about the
subject of answered prayer.
Jesus knew how to get His prayers answered and would have
taught His Mother how to do the same.
I am confident Mary became
successful at getting her prayers answered because of Jesus’ instructions.
That is one of the reasons she instructed during the wedding feast at Cana, “Whatsoever
He saith unto you, do it.” Mary knew Jesus knew how to get results.
By the way, these
are Mary’s last recorded words in the Bible. This should speak to us all.
Are you having
difficulty getting your prayers answered? Would you like to be as
effective in prayer as Mary was effective in prayer when she was living in the Earth?
Mary had a Prayer Secret
that she learned from Jesus just before He returned to Heaven.
If you’ll pray as Mary prayed, you
will succeed in prayer as Mary did.
Mary's Prayer Secret
will work for any Born Again Catholic even as
it worked for Mary. It is something Jesus specifically taught all of His
disciples.
Following
is Mary’s Prayer Secret.
“And in that day ye
shall ask Me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask
the Father in My Name, He will give it you.” (John 16:23)
Remember, Mary said to obey Jesus. She said to obey
"whatsoever" He said to do.
Jesus said, right here in the Bible, to take all prayer needs to
His Father, not to Him and not to His Mother!
Jesus
said to pray to His Father in His Name.
This is Mary’s key to
answered prayer: Pray directly to the Father
in Jesus' Name!
If you’ve been praying to Mary,
to Jesus or to anyone else, you
have been unknowingly praying in disobedience. Ask the Father to forgive you, in
Jesus’ Name. He will do so.
Make the necessary adjustment,
begin praying directly to the Father in Jesus' Name and you will find
the power in prayer that Mary had.
This is the power in
prayer for which you have been searching!
Not only will you find
power in prayer,
you will experience the joy of answered prayer!
There
is nothing more joyless than unanswered prayer.
“Hitherto have ye
asked nothing in My Name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be
full.” (John 16:24)
A
Life Changing Testimony
In the early 1990s
my friend’s Dad
needed a heart transplant costing $165,000.
Unfortunately, his
dad had signed a waiver decades earlier,
excluding heart transplants from his health insurance coverage.
For months my friend pleaded
with his Dad’s insurance agents to please reconsider and allow the
financing for the transplant. The insurance agents were unyielding.
My friend pleaded
with the American Heart Association, his State Representative and Senators,
even seeking legal counsel to help him in the saving of his father's life.
Absolutely
no one with authority
was able to help him.
His Dad had signed
the waiver during a time when heart transplants were uncommon and
the Insurance Company was now not legally bound to help him.
During
conversation with my friend I discovered
he had been praying to Jesus for help. I shared with him the
importance of praying directly to the Father in Jesus' Name and not praying
to Jesus.
He immediately made the
adjustment, asking the Father to change the hearts of the insurance agents, in Jesus’ Name.
Twenty minutes after
adjusting his prayer, his Dad’s insurance company called to inform him they were
making an exception
for his Dad. They were granting
the $165,000 in spite of the signed waiver. They actually even said to
my friend, "We don't know why we're doing this but in your Dad's case
we're going to make an exception."
Of course, we
understood fully why they were doing so. It was because God became
involved when my friend stopped praying to Jesus and prayed to the Father in
Jesus' Name.
I stood right there as a
witness to the phone call.
Once my friend changed the way he was
praying, our Heavenly Father was able to help him.
Up until that
point, God’s Hands were tied, so to speak. My friend was not praying
Scripturally and God will not violate His written Word no matter how
desperate our situation may be.
Mary’s Prayer
Secret.
It worked for her.
It worked for my friend.
It
works for me.
It will work for
any child of God who will make application of it.
Do you pray as
effectively as Mary prayed? She
revealed you could.
Say, “Jesus, You’re my choice” to become a child of God. (Romans
10:13)
Then you can pray to the Father in Jesus’ Name and have joy in
prayer even as Mary did.
Won't
that be nice for a change?
