"During
the last three decades of the life & Ministry of Dr. Kenneth E. Hagin, the Word of Faith
message as he taught it was hijacked & forced down an alley of self-indulgent greed. There it was brutally beaten
by a violent gang of man-made & demonic false prosperity doctrines. The ones responsible for these crimes
against Holy God & His people are presently being apprehended by the Holy Spirit &
without repentance will soon be judged accordingly. Although prosperity in
perspective is indeed the will of God, covetousness never has been &
never will be a Christian virtue. " Pastor John Hamel

One: The Problem. The Hijacking of the Message of Faith
Dr. Kenneth E. Hagin
is regarded by many as the father of the Word of Faith movement. His
Ministry spanned seven decades after God miraculously healed him of a
deformed heart and incurable blood disease when he was seventeen years of
age.
Mark
11:22-24 was the keynote of Dr. Hagin's entire life and Ministry.
"And
Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto
you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain (symbolic of human problems
and obstacles), Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall
not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith
shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore, I say unto
you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that you receive
them, and ye shall have them."
Dr.
Hagin's Biblical revelations of the message of Faith and the
Believers'
Authority over sickness, disease, poverty and eternal separation from God
have virtually revolutionized Pentecostal Christianity worldwide.

Chapter One: Dr. Kenneth E. Hagin Corrects the Errant Prosperity Preachers
Sadly,
in the years prior to Dr. Hagin traveling home to Heaven, his Biblical message of Faith
had been hijacked. Not
only hijacked, but hijacked by many of his own notable sons and daughters in
the faith.
Many faith and prosperity Preachers who proudly referred to Dr.
Hagin as their spiritual father, even referring to him as "Dad,"
had greatly twisted and altered his
teachings, particularly when it comes to the Biblical message of
prosperity.
As
a result, and by the leading of the Holy Spirit, Dr. Hagin took upon himself
the responsibility of correcting the extreme
Biblical errors of the most notable prosperity Preachers who received him as
their father.
Dr.
Hagin was not so foolish as to believe the modern-day "Touch
not Mine anointed" error which has so often been wrongly used to
protect these notable hyper-prosperity Preachers.
In early 1999, Dr. Hagin called a convocation of
approximately two dozen of the most popular, prosperous prosperity
Preachers. This solemn assembly occurred on the campus of RHEMA Bible
Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, USA.
Although this was a private
meeting not open to the public, it was recorded in order that certain individuals might be able to hear
the roll call of who was present, as well as what was discussed in that half-day
meeting.
A copy of those sound files has been made available to John
Hamel Ministries.
The comments and teachings you will read here are
based in part on what I have personally heard on those sound files and what I
have also read in Dr. Hagin's book, "The Midas Touch. A Balanced Approach to
Biblical Prosperity."
At
the time of this convocation, Dr. Hagin instructed those present directly
from his "Midas Touch" notes, as well as making a personal copy of
that yet
unpublished book available to them all. Dr. Hagin also placed in their
hands, individual copies of "All Things Are Possible. The Healing and
Charismatic Revivals in Modern America" by David Edwin Harrell,
Jr.
I
have read Mr. Harrell's book, particularly certain sections, several
times. It is a well-balanced history of the Charismatic movement of the 1940s and
1950s. This book
reveals some of the major errors of the key healing and prosperity Preachers
of that revival. These were errors that ultimately led to severely grieving
the Holy Spirit and to the shutting down of that entire revival.
Simply
put,
these Revivalists had lost their focus. They ceased to make repentance
and salvation in
Jesus Christ their first priority. They began to neglect the message of the
Baptism with the Holy Spirit, healing and deliverance and began preaching
full-bore prosperity for the express purpose of their own personal gain.
These
four primary errors ultimately led to the premature death of virtually every
healing Revivalist of that particular movement who had jumped on the
supernatural prosperity bandwagon.
Dr. Hagin pointed
out that these very same errors were now being repeated by the Ministers and
Ministries represented that day in Broken Arrow in 1999.
Obvious to anyone
who was in that room, or who has heard the sound files, Dr. Hagin was warning
these popular prosperity Preachers that they, too, were now running the same
risk of dying prematurely.
Although
the sound files from that meeting are not available to the public, Dr.
Hagin's book, "The Midas Touch," is readily available to the
public. Everything covered in that meeting is in this book for anyone
who desires to discover in greater detail the many things for which Dr. Hagin
corrected the individuals gathered that day.
In
"The Midas Touch" Dr. Hagin makes it perfectly clear that
prosperity is indeed the will of God, but not the way it is being taught by
most of those popular prosperity Preachers.
In
one of his multiple visitations of the Lord Jesus Christ, Jesus sat by Dr.
Hagin's hospital bed and told him, "If you will learn to follow this
Inward Witness, I will help you in all the affairs of your life. If My
children will listen to Me, I will make them wealthy. I am not opposed
to them being rich, I am only opposed to them being covetous." ("I
Believe in Visions" pg. 117)
Here
Jesus is not promising to make everyone multi-millionaires. To be rich
means to have much more than is needed to do whatever Jesus has called each
of us as individuals to do. For some that will include millions of
dollars, but for others it will not.
However,
Jesus promises everyone who obeys His Word will have exceeding abundantly
more than what is needed to fulfill His plan and purpose for their life, to
give the way He desires for them to give and to enjoy proportionate
abundance.
"Now
unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or
think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto Him be glory in the
Church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end."
(Ephesians 3:20)

Chapter
Two: Out
of One Ditch & Right into Another
During
that meeting Dr.
Hagin made it clear that at one time the
Body of Christ was in a ditch on one side of the road, wrongly believing that poverty represented
humility. He made it clear that the Body of Christ has now gone to the
opposite extreme and is now in a ditch on the other side of the road,
wrongly believing that great gain and great prosperity represents great
Godliness.
"If
any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words
of our Lord Jesus Christ, and according to the doctrine which is according
to Godliness; he is proud, knowing nothing ... destitute of the truth,
supposing that gain is Godliness; from such withdraw thyself. But
Godliness with contentment is great gain." (1 Timothy 6:3-6)
Dr.
Hagin pointed out the ridiculousness of the "Gain is Godliness" belief by sharing
how great wealth could also mean one has just robbed a bank and is not Godly at
all.
He
pointed out that the "Giving to Get" message preached by
most present in that room was ungodly and wrong.
He pointed out that
one's motive in giving is everything.
Giving to be a blessing and to
increase the fulfillment of the Great Commission in the Earth is the only
true and proper motivation for giving. God does indeed promise
increase and abundance for doing so.
However, giving solely for the
purpose of getting a big return cheapens the Gospel and is improper, disrespectful and ungodly.
Sadly, many
of these big prosperous Ministries have wrongly allowed people to believe
the bigger the Ministry you give to, the bigger your return. That
promise is found nowhere in Scripture.
Dr.
Hagin also warned those present that in many cases they were living in
unnecessarily extravagant homes and driving unnecessarily extravagant
vehicles, which he explained "offends and injures many."
In
other words, a Minister living extravagantly does much more
harm than good.
Dr.
Hagin exhorted all present to pull their Ministries, their teaching and
their personal lifestyles back in line with Scripture and to do what was
most profitable for the Body, for the lost people of the world and not for themselves alone.

Chapter
Three: The Prophet's Message Was for the Most Part Flatly Ignored
Most
every popular prosperity Preacher present in the room that day walked out of that convocation and ignored Dr.
Hagin's Biblical admonition.
Most of them returned to preaching and teaching
their errant prosperity doctrines.
In many cases
the prosperity Preachers' errors grew even
worse.
The
prosperity Preachers became wealthier and wealthier.
In the
overwhelmingly vast majority
of cases, their supporters did not become wealthier and wealthier right along
with them.
Reason being, their doctrine was Biblically errant and God
was not obligated to keep prosperity promises these Preachers were falsely
making on His behalf to their supporters.
The
excessive prosperity Preachers now clearly understood, through Dr. Hagin's
precise Biblical correction, their doctrine was
deceitful and unbalanced, yet so many continue with it to this very
day.
They
continue preaching and teaching their man-made doctrines. Some of
these doctrines are even demonic because those who rebelliously continued in
error have now became seduced by evil spirits as a result.
In
one of Dr. Hagin's key visitations of the Lord Jesus Christ, Jesus told him "an evil spirit will get hold of a person, even a child of God, if
they will let him."
This would include even Ministers of the
Gospel.
One can become so rebellious that they can become
oppressed by
and obsessed of seducing, evil spirits.
The Apostle Paul instructed us
to be particularly careful in these Last Days of rebellion and
seduction by
evil spirits.
"Now
the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart
from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of demons;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot
iron." (1 Timothy 4:1-2)
Each
of those Ministers who walked out of that convocation, returning to their
false doctrine in spite of having been clearly and Biblically corrected,
began the process of searing their own conscience.
A seared conscience
is an open door to seducing spirits and doctrines of
demons.
A
rebellious, disobedient, seared conscience rooted in covetousness is also an
open door to the allowed judgment of
a benevolent, loving God.
"For
the time has come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it
first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the Gospel of
God?" (1 Peter 4:17)
Top
Chapter
Four: Disappointment upon Disappointment upon Disappointment
After
decades of false man-made and, in some cases, demon-inspired prosperity
doctrines, those who support these bigger prosperity-based Ministries are
still not prospering like the Ministers they give to.
The
givers are still
not prospering, as they have been wrongly led to believe they will, through
false "Giving to Get" principles and mantras such as "You can
have Mercedes-style living, if you will give with Mercedes-style
giving."
Untold
multiple thousands who believed in "giving until it hurts" have
walked away disappointed and even angry with God because after years of
giving they did not prosper as the Ministers wrongly promised.
Some
of these Ministries even offer CD and DVD series with titles such as
"Why Is My Giving Not Working?"
Problem
is, it costs even more money to purchase the supposed solutions, which for
the most part only promote additional man-made doctrines and more twisting
of Scripture out of context.
These
disappointed people have not prospered because faith to prosper does not come by hearing
man-made prosperity doctrines.
Faith to prosper does not come from
listening to doctrines of demons.
This
is the problem. This is why their giving is not working.
Faith to prosper God's way comes
only through the proper preaching and teaching of the precious Holy written
Word of God.
That
is the only solution.
"So
then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." (Romans
10:17)
It
is impossible to have faith beyond what one actually knows about the Bible.
Many
Christians who have followed the excessive prosperity Preachers, simply do not yet
realize that in so very many cases they have been taught contrary to the Bible.
Dr. Hagin
pointed out to those Ministers present that they were teaching doctrines
contrary to the Bible and hurting people.
Dr.
Hagin also pointed out in "The Midas Touch" that everyone is not going
to prosper the way most of these errant prosperity Preachers prosper.
That is contrary to what God promised in the Bible.

Wealth
Proportionate to What God Has Called You to Do
God has promised to meet
the needs of every individual, in an over and above manner, but only based
upon what that individual is called to do in
this life.
Some
individuals have grace for smaller Ministries which require less amounts of
money. Some individuals have grace for bigger
Ministries which require greater amounts of money. We are all called to
minister only according to the amount of grace given. (Romans 12:6-8)
Some individuals
are not called to the public 5-fold Ministry but are called to a
Ministry of Giving
in order to
financially support Ministries. This would require the need for greater
amounts of money. (Romans 12:8)
However,
most individuals are simply called to serve in their local Church and to support their
local Church through their tithes and offerings.
Whatever a believer
is called of God to do, God promises to give them more than enough to do
their job and to give generously, keeping the cycle of abundance in motion.
"But
this I say, he which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he
which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as
he purposeth in his heart so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity:
for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound
towards you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may
abound to every good work... Now He that ministereth seed to the sower both
minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the
fruits of your righteousness; being enriched in everything to all
bountifulness, which causes through us thanksgiving to God." (2
Corinthians 9:6-11)
However, although God promises abundance and wealth in
support of whatever He has called individuals to do, everyone is not called to be
multi-millionaires. It should be obvious to all after nearly forty years
of wrong prosperity teaching by most of these major prosperity Ministries, the vast majority of their supporters are
simply unable to live extravagantly in the way most of the popular prosperity
Preachers do.
In
spite of the fact that the most popular ones continue to arrogantly declare,
"You can have Mercedes living, if you will give with Mercedes
giving!" it is just not happening. In place of the promised
Mercedes Benz automobiles, the ones who are giving and making the Ministers
wealthy continue to labor to make on-time payments for their Toyotas and
Chevrolets.
Even common sense says what they
have been teaching simply is not working - not for everyone.
Not
by a long shot.
Dr.
Hagin clearly reminded those Ministers present of what the Lord Jesus Christ
personally taught him as a Prophet, from the Bible, concerning the true steps to
a believer having their needs met in an over and above fashion. That
revelation can be found in Dr. Hagin's book, "How God Taught Me About
Prosperity" which we will discuss in Section Two.
Sadly, those Ministers walked away from their
correction that day, not only ignoring what Dr. Hagin outlined from "The Midas
Touch," but ignoring what Jesus taught Dr. Hagin in "How God
Taught Me About Prosperity."
What Jesus taught Dr. Hagin about
how to prosper was not simply for Dr. Hagin's own personal benefit.
What
Jesus taught Dr. Hagin from the Bible was for the Body of Christ.
What Jesus taught
Dr. Hagin about how to prosper was and is the responsibility of all those
prosperity Preachers present to share with their supporters, yet they still
do not properly and consistently do so.
It
is my opinion that they do not do so because they are fearful that it could
result in people no longer giving to them the way they need people to give
to them to maintain the little kingdoms they have built.
They are
fearful of teaching people that their tithes and offerings should not be
paid to their big name Ministries, but rather they should be paid to the
local Church where the people attend.
In most cases, these Word of Faith Ministers
have become Word of Fear Ministers, at least when it comes to the subject of
true Biblical Prosperity.
God
knows my heart. I share what I do here out of concern for many who
have been offended, burned, bruised, injured and driven away by the man-made and demon-inspired doctrines of
false prosperity.
It
is not my intention to hurt anyone. My intention is
to help everyone whose faith has been severely damaged by these man-made
doctrines and doctrines of demons.
My job as a Shepherd is to lay down my life
for hurting sheep.
My job as a
Shepherd is not to lay down my life and
cover for other compromised, errant Shepherds.

Chapter
Five: The Key Error of the Most Popular Prosperity Preachers
The fact of the matter is, even
as Dr. Hagin pointed out to those present that day, the majority of
modern-day prosperity Preachers are making the same mistake as the Voice of
Healing Revivalists
of the 1940s and 1950s.
They are neglecting the message of
repentance and salvation in Christ as their absolute number one priority.
They are neglecting
the message of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit as their second priority.
They
are neglecting the message of healing and
deliverance as their third
priority.
They are over-emphasizing the message of financial
prosperity, even teaching man-made and demonically-inspired prosperity
doctrines, and ignoring what Jesus personally taught Prophet Kenneth E. Hagin about the basic Bible
principles of how to prosper.
Dr.
Hagin clearly pointed this out to them. Most walked out of that room and
ignored him.
This
ignoring of God's Prophet and his warning of pending judgment is the key error of the most popular prosperity Preachers who were present
that day in 1999 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, USA.
The
very key error.

Chapter
Six: Covetousness Is Neither a Virtue Nor a Leadership Quality
You
will recall,
in
one of his many visions of the Lord Jesus Christ, Dr. Kenneth E. Hagin said
Jesus told him, "If you will learn to follow the Inward Witness, I will
help you in all the affairs of your life. If My children will listen
to Me, I will make them wealthy. I am not opposed to their being rich,
I am only opposed to their being covetous." ("I Believe in
Visions" pg. 117)
Judging
by their ostentatious lifestyles, their extravagant choices of automobiles,
aircraft, the multiple homes, the palatial mansions and estates that most of the popular
prosperity Preachers and Christian television executives enjoy, there is no denying the fact they are not simply
approaching covetousness. They have actually entered well into the realm
of covetousness and are living there.
Covetousness
never has been and never will be a virtue or a leadership
quality.
Covetousness
and an extravagant lifestyle reek of a lack of self-control and a complete
lack of consideration for others who desperately need to be reached with the
Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Covetousness,
as Dr. Hagin pointed out, "offends and injures many."
When
God gives a Minister or a layperson wealth it is for service, not status.
God
gives money to Ministers and Believers for three
primary reasons. Those three reasons are the same three primary reasons
for which Jesus came to the Earth.
First,
Jesus came to Planet Earth to seek and to save the lost people of the
world.
"For
the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." (Luke
19:10)
The
first and foremost reason God sends money to Ministers and Christian
laypeople is that it might be utilized in the seeking and saving of the lost
people of the world. This is done by the continual preaching of repentance
and salvation in Christ.
Sadly,
the vast majority of the most popular prosperity Preachers are severely
missing the mark here. One need not be an investigative sleuth in order to
see that the salvation of the lost people of the world is very obviously not
their first priority.
Second,
Jesus came to Planet Earth to destroy the works of Satan.
"For
this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works
of the devil." (1 John 3:8)
The
second primary reason God sends money to Ministers and Christian laypeople
is that it might be utilized to destroy Satan's works of killing, stealing
and destroying human lives. This is done by the continual preaching and
teaching of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit, Divine healing and deliverance
from demonic principalities and powers.
Equally
as sad is the fact that the vast majority of the popular prosperity
Preachers are severely missing the mark here as well, even as Dr. Hagin
alerted them.
Third,
Jesus came to Planet Earth that those who believe in Him might have life and
have it more abundantly.
"The
thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come
that they might have life, and that they might have it more
abundantly." (John 10:10)
The
third primary reason God sends money to Ministers and Christian laypeople is
that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.
In
most cases, the most popular prosperity Preachers and their supporters have
this reason for God sending money in the number one position, as opposed to
the number three position where it belongs. This is a glaring example
of blatant covetousness.
Covetousness
can cause a Minister to lose their anointing to preach and to demonstrate
the Gospel. It can also lead to premature death as was the case with all the
Voice of Healing Ministers from the 1940s and 1950s who overly emphasized
the message of prosperity for their own personal gain.
Without
exception, every one of them died prematurely.
Once
again, Dr. Hagin was right when he stated, “Overemphasizing
or adding to what the Bible teaches inevitably does more harm than good.”
During
another of his many visitations of the Lord, Jesus even warned Dr. Hagin
himself to be very careful about money. Jesus advised Dr. Hagin that many of
His servants, whom He anoints for the type of Ministry Dr. Hagin had, become
money-minded and lose the anointings and Ministries that Jesus gives to
them. ("I Believe in Visions" pg. 52)
This
is what we see occurring in the lives of most of the popular prosperity
Preachers. They have become money-minded and have lost the anointing to do
what Jesus originally called them to do. As a result, they have had their
candlesticks removed, even as Jesus promised would occur when a Minister
walks away from their first love.
"Nevertheless
I have somewhat against thee, because thou has left thy first love. Remember
therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent and do the first works; or
else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of
his place, except thou repent." (Revelation 2:4-5)
These
particular prosperity Preachers and many Christian television executives have gotten off the path of strongly emphasizing repentance and salvation in
Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit Baptism, Divine
healing, deliverance and how to walk
by faith in a manner that is pleasing to God.
By
doing so, they have lost their anointings, their very lives are in jeopardy
and many have become seduced by evil spirits taking advantage of their
rebellion and disobedience. This problem with seducing spirits compounds
their problem because it leads from one error to another. This is
especially true in the Last Days in which we are living.
"Now
the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart
from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of
demons." (1 Timothy 4:1)

How to End Up Way Off Course, Embarrassed, Disgraced & Potentially Dead
I
will use the illustration of an airline pilot setting out to fly from Los
Angeles to Miami. In his carelessness he allows his heading/direction indicator
to remain off just one single degree. Initially that does not sound
like it could lead to much of a problem. After all, why worry about one
little degree of error?
However,
over an extended range and period of time, that one little degree can take
the pilot and his aircraft so far off course that they arrive in Boston
instead of Miami. They unexpectedly arrive at a completely wrong, unintended
destination.
All
the time they were flying they were off course just one little degree, but
because they refused to continually check their heading indicator all
along the way, making every necessary adjustment to insure accuracy, they
ended up far off course, embarrassed and disgraced as a pilot.
In
some cases when pilots do this, they exhaust their fuel supply, crash, burn
and die.
This
is what so many of the popular prosperity Preachers have done and are doing.
In
1999 Dr. Hagin called them in to advise them to check their Biblical heading
indicators. He advised them that they were not only a
degree or two off course, but they were severely off course and had been for
quite sometime.
In
essence he was telling them, "Check yourselves. You are about to wreck
yourselves."
For
the most part the popular prosperity Preachers rejected Dr. Hagin's Godly counsel
and to date they are further off course than ever before.
Many of them are
now not only teaching false prosperity doctrine, but are also teaching
false, bizarre unbiblical doctrines concerning Church
unity, Catholicism, the
Convergence movement, creation, homosexuality, the infinite presence of God,
the unwillingness of God to
judge individuals and nations, the Emerging Church
and other so-called
"revelations from God" that simply do not line up with Scripture.
None
of these Ministers or Christian TV networks started out teaching some of the bizarre unscriptural
things that they do. They started out mostly in line with Scripture, making
simple human mistakes but refusing to repent and adjust those mistakes, bringing
themselves back in line with the Bible.
They
started out a degree or two off course and were too prideful to receive
correction. Now, today many of them have misled hundreds of
thousands, in some cases millions, and have been disgraced, face continual embarrassment, and without
repentance, some are soon to crash and burn. This is what I refer to as
"God's allowed judgment."
It
is with heaviness of heart that I remind the reader of what Jesus told Dr.
Hagin when He appeared to him in February of 1959. Jesus told him if a
Church, a Ministry, a Pastor, an individual, etc., would not accept his
Prophet's Ministry that Dr. Hagin should just go his way, and shake the dust
off his feet against them, so to speak.
Dr.
Hagin said Jesus told him if those whom he was sent to correct would not
accept his Prophet's Ministry, then they were literally rejecting the
written Word of
God.
Jesus
went on to say that if a Pastor or Ministry leader would not accept him when
Jesus sent him with a message, then judgment would come on the
rejecter. Jesus told Dr. Hagin they would be responsible for rejecting
the messenger and the message, not him. (Ezekiel 3:18-21)
Jesus
told him, "There will be Ministers who don't accept it and who will
fall dead in the pulpit." ("I Believe in Visions" pgs.
114-115)
As
of this writing, the nearly two dozen Ministers and Ministries represented
on the campus of RHEMA Bible Training Center that day in 1999 have had
fifteen merciful years to repent and to adjust their heading indicators.
Most
of these popular prosperity Preachers have still not accepted Jesus'
corrective message
through His Prophet.
Most
have simply and selfishly refused to make any and every necessary
adjustment.
They
behave as if much time given to repent is an unwillingness on God's part to
allow them to be judged, in spite of the fact Jesus told Dr. Hagin they
would be judged.
Referring
to repentance, Dr. Lester Sumrall said, "I am often amazed at what some
people will allow themselves and others to go through just to avoid five
minutes of soul-cleansing shame."
The
popular prosperity Preachers will either repent or soon be judged, for God will
not be mocked.
"Be
not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he
also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh, shall of the flesh reap
corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit, shall of the Spirit reap life
everlasting." (Galatians 6:7-8)

Chapter
Seven: What
Jesus Taught Dr. Kenneth E. Hagin about Prosperity
During
the Broken Arrow convocation of popular prosperity Preachers, Dr. Hagin
reminded them of what Jesus personally taught him in January of 1950 about
using his faith for prosperity.
He
was encouraging them to abandon their false doctrines and their practice of
taking Scripture out of context to stir people up for excessive giving.
He
was encouraging them to stop teaching false doctrine and to return to what
Jesus had shown him was the Biblical way to receive the abundance Jesus has
for all Born Again obedient believers.
It
is with great regret I share with you that, obvious to me at least, he was
not taken completely seriously by everyone present - particularly the bigger
name Ministries.
For
the most part, as I have continued to state in this book, the big name,
popular prosperity Preachers did not return to emphasizing repentance and
salvation in Jesus.
They
did not return to emphasizing the Baptism with the Holy
Spirit, supernatural
healing and deliverance from demonic harassment.
They
did not return to keeping things simple and consistently preaching and
teaching what Jesus taught Prophet Hagin was the proper way to receive
Biblical prosperity in perspective.
However,
just because they chose to not stick with what Jesus showed His Prophet was
the right way to receive abundance, does not mean that others have to
continue to follow them in their error.
Anyone
can make application of what Jesus showed His Prophet and experience God's
blessing on their finances. The Bible says God is no respecter of persons.
(Acts 10:34; Romans 2:11)
What
God wants for one of His children, He wants for all of His children.
This
would include even those givers who have been sowing for years into the popular
Preachers' false prosperity Ministries, never having received the abundant financial
harvests they were repeatedly promised.

Jesus
Took Brother Hagin Back to the Simple Basics of Faith for Finances
In
January of 1950 while praying in the bedroom of his parsonage, Jesus gave
Brother Hagin the following revelation concerning using his faith for
prosperity. This encounter with Jesus is described in Dr. Hagin's book,
"How God Taught Me about Prosperity."
It is from this book
that I learned what I am delivering to you here.
Jesus
reminded Dr. Hagin, from the Book of Genesis, that He was the One Who made
the world.
He
reminded him of Psalm 89:11, "The Heavens are Mine, the Earth also is
Mine: as for the world and the fullness thereof, I have founded them."
He
then reminded Brother Hagin that He made Adam.
"And
the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his
nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis
2:7)
Jesus
reminded Dr. Hagin that all living creatures belong to Him.
"For
every beast of the forest is Mine and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I
know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are
Mine. If I were hungry I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the
fullness thereof." (Psalm 50:10-12)
Jesus
went on to remind Dr. Hagin that all the silver and the gold in the world
belongs to Him.
"The
silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, sayeth the Lord of Hosts."
(Haggai 2:8)
Jesus
explained that everything in the world belongs to Him because He
made it.
"For
by Him were all things created that are in Heaven, and that are in Earth ...
all things were created by Him and for Him." (Colossians 1:16)
Jesus
made it clear that not only had He made everything in creation, but
that He turned it over to His man, Adam, telling him, "Adam, I give you
dominion over all the work of My hands." Of course, this meant
that now Adam had dominion over the world, the fullness thereof, the beasts,
the fowls, the silver, the gold and everything else in the
world.
Jesus
asked Brother Hagin, "For whom do you think I made the cattle of a
thousand hills? For whom do you think I made the world and the
fullness thereof? For whom do you think I made the silver and the gold
- for the devil and his crowd? No! For My man, Adam. But Satan came
along and Adam committed high treason and sold out to him."
Jesus
went on to explain that Adam was originally the god of this world and that
was the way He planned it. However, when Adam sold out to Satan, Satan
became the god of this world. When Adam bowed his knee to Satan,
everything he owned now became Satan's. But that was not the way God
planned it.
Satan was not the god of this world to begin with.
However, he is now.
"But
if our Gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of
this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light
of the glorious gospel of Christ, Who is the image of God, should shine unto
them." (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)
Satan
will temporarily remain the god of this world until the angel comes from Heaven to lock
him in the bottomless pit at the end of the great Tribulation
Period.
"And
I saw an angel come down from Heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit
and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that ole
serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, and
cast him into the bottomless pit and shut him up..." (Revelation
20:1-3)
For
the time being Satan and his emissaries have control of most of the money in
this world. People will use it to build great concert halls, performing arts
centers, theaters, sports stadiums, shopping malls, holiday resort areas,
amusement parks, honky-tonks and barrooms and nobody
complains. Yet when Christians want to use some of that money to build
a beautiful Church or sanctuary to glorify God, people start
complaining.
Concerning
this, Jesus told Brother Hagin, "I expect My people to have the best
place in town to meet."
Jesus
also said He is not the one withholding money from Churches, families and
individuals when Brother Hagin complained he did not have enough for his
family or Ministry.
"I'm
not withholding adequate food and clothing from your little children. That's
not Me, it's the devil. He's the god of this world."

Two: The Solution. A Return to Simple Bible-Based Prosperity Teaching
During
the January 1950 visitation Jesus told Brother Hagin, "The money you
need is down there on Earth; it's not up here in Heaven." He
explained He could not rain money down from Heaven when His people have a
need, because He does not have any of the world's currencies in
Heaven. And even if He did rain money down from Heaven, that would be
counterfeiting. God is not a counterfeiter.
Now
here is something that will help any of Jesus' children who have a
financial need. At this point Jesus quoted Luke 6:38 to Brother Hagin.
"Give
and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken
together, and running over, shall MEN give into your bosom."
Notice
Jesus said "men" will give into your bosom. He did not say
"God" would give into your bosom.
Jesus
said He would cause men who were in the Earth to give into your bosom.
"Down
there - down there!" Jesus emphasized to Brother Hagin.

Chapter
One: Stop Praying about Money & Claim Whatever You
Need
When
Jesus strongly emphasized to him that the money needed is down on Earth, not
up in Heaven, Brother
Hagin asked, "Then what should I do?"
Jesus
explained that Brother Hagin should stop praying about money, at least in the way he
had been. He wanted him to understand that he needed to stop
asking God for money when God did not have possession of the money he needed. Men on
Earth are in possession of the money he, and we, need.
Jesus
said, "Claim whatever you need. Claim it because it's down there on
Earth and Satan has the most control of it, because he's the god of this
world. Say, 'I claim ...,' naming whatever it is you want or
need."
Claim
what you need or want in Jesus' Strong Name.
Often,
at this point, people will become upset that someone teaches God will go
beyond our needs and meet our wants, but it is what the Bible says.
"The
Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want." (Psalm 23:1)
"The
young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall
not want any good thing." (Psalm 34:10)
"For
the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the
saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God." (2
Corinthians 9:12)
Of
course, we know to use common sense and good judgment when it comes to
claiming the amount we want or need.
Begin this
claiming process by exercising your faith only on the things you need. Do not claim
some unnecessarily exorbitant amount you know you do not have faith for just
yet.
Start
out claiming your rent or your automobile payment. As God begins to
meet you in those areas, stretch out a little further. Believe for extra
to give to your Church missions program. Believe for extra to go on that special family trip you've been wanting.
As
your faith grows and you begin to see supernatural results, increase the
amount claimed.
By starting off believing for a thousand dollars a month for
the rent, you will soon be at the place where you will be able to claim more
and more for your personal needs, your reasonable wants and to give more
into the building of God's Kingdom.

Chapter
Two: Tell Satan to Release Your Finances
After
having told Brother Hagin to "Claim whatever you need or want," He
told him to say, "Satan, take your hands off my finances." Of
course, this must be done in Jesus' Strong
Name.
"And
these signs shall follow them that believe: In My Name shall they cast out
demons..." (Mark 16:17)
"Submit
yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from
you." (James 4:7)
If
you do not tell the devil to release your finances, God will not do it for
you. Almighty God has already done everything He is going to do about
the devil for us. Now we must deal with him
directly.
"For
we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual
wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12)
During
another visitation in December 1952 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Jesus
explained the following to Brother Hagin concerning the organization and
classification of Satanic principalities
and powers.
"There are four
divisions: Principalities, Powers, Rulers of the darkness of this world, and
Wicked Spirits in high places, or in the Heavenlies. The highest
spirits with which you have to deal are the Rulers of the darkness of this
world. These are the highest types of demons with which you have to
deal on Earth - the Rulers of the darkness of this world.
"They rule
all unsaved people ... they rule not only those who are within the darkness
of this world, but they also tell the Principalities what to do. Then the
Principalities rule over the Powers and tell them what to do. The
lowest type of demons have very little to do. They do very little
thinking of their own and are told what to do." ("I Believe in
Visions" pg. 70)
Jesus
also explained to Brother Hagin that "spiritual wickedness in high places" are
evil spirits that human beings do not deal with. Jesus alone deals with
those wicked spirits.
So
it is clear that demonic principalities and powers are highly organized and
classified into specific groupings. They have their own form of government,
even as the angels of God have
their own form of government.
Satan
learned the importance of organization and government when he was an angel
called "Lucifer." He
is highly organized when it comes to using demonic Principalities and Powers
to keep money out of the hands of believers in Jesus Christ who will use it
properly.
When
Jesus told Brother Hagin to say, "Satan, take your hands off my
finances," He was making clear if the Christian does not exercise
authority over Satan and demon powers concerning their finances, they would
continue to be harassed in this area.
When
dealing with finances, sickness or any other area where Satan harasses, we
always address each of these entities in the following manner. "We bind
the Rulers of the darkness of this present evil world and every demonic
Principality and Power assigned against us in this area. We bind you away
from this situation in Jesus' Strong Name."
When it comes to
finances we specifically tell them to loose the amount of money which we
are claiming.
They
have no choice but to obey, for Christ has defeated them and given us all
rule and authority over them.
"And
having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly
triumphing over them in it." (Colossians 2:15)
In
other words, at the time of Christ's death, burial and resurrection on our
behalf, Jesus defeated these highly organized Principalities and Powers. It is now up to the
believer in Christ to simply enforce their
defeat.
"Behold,
I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions (Rulers,
Principalities and Powers), and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing
shall by any means hurt you. Not withstanding in this rejoice not, that the
spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice because your names are
written in Heaven." (Luke 10:19-20)
Here
Jesus reminds His disciples not only that they have all power and authority
over these demonic principalities and powers, but that they must stay out of pride concerning
it. The believer must maintain an attitude of humility knowing
that without Christ's vicarious suffering, we would have no
authority over them.
However,
humbly keeping in mind what Christ has done in
defeating them, we must enforce their
defeat, demanding them to loose our
finances in Jesus' Strong Name. Otherwise, our finances will remain bound.
Once
the faith command has been given to Satan, do not repeat it for that would
be an act of unbelief. Tell him one time and then remind him, "I
remind you that you are bound and now I am enforcing your defeat concerning
my finances, in Jesus' Strong Name."

Chapter
Three: Tell the Angels to Cause Your Money to Come
Having
told Brother Hagin to "Claim whatever you need or want," and to
say, "Satan, take your hands off my finances," Jesus then instructed him
to give the following voice command.
"Go,
Ministering Spirits, and cause the money to come."
"Lord,
what in the world do you mean by that? I never heard that
before!" exclaimed Brother Hagin.
Jesus
reminded him that angels are "...ministering spirits sent
forth to minister FOR them who shall be heirs of salvation." (Hebrews
1:14)
Brother Hagin had always thought that verse said that
ministering spirits were to minister "to" not
"for." But Jesus corrected him, telling him, "No, it
doesn't say they'll minister to you: it says they'll minister for you."
In
clearing this up with Brother Hagin He used the illustration of going into a
restaurant and sitting down, allowing the waitress to serve your table, or
to minister for you. Jesus told him, "You turn your order in, and
she goes and gets it."
Can
you see what Jesus was saying, Reader? He was literally telling His
disciples to turn their order in for whatever it is they needed or
wanted. He said to send the Ministering Spirits out to cause it to
come to you by saying, "Go, Ministering Spirits, and cause the money to
come."
Many Christians have no idea that the angels of God will hearken
to their voice commands, as long as those commands are in line with the Bible and given
in the Name of Jesus.
"Bless
the Lord, ye His angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments,
hearkening unto the voice of His Word." (Psalm 103:20)
Can
you see it? The angels of God hearken to the voice of God's
Word. Well, who gives voice to God's Word in the Earth? You and I
do. And when we do, Jesus said the angels will obey.
"Bless
ye the Lord, all ye His hosts (still talking about angels); ministers of
His, that do His pleasure." (Psalm 103:21)
The
angels of God do His good pleasure.
You may be thinking, "What
does this have to do with my finances?"
Let's look at Psalm 35 to
answer that question.
"Let
them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor My righteous cause (soulwinning,
the Holy Spirit Baptism, healing and deliverance). Yea, let them say
continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the
prosperity of His servant." (Psalm 35:17)
Notice,
the Bible says that God has pleasure in your prosperity. We just read
in Psalm 103 that the angels of God "do His pleasure."
It
is God's great pleasure to allow His Ministering Spirits to cause prosperity
to come to us, but we must give the voice command to which they will
hearken.
At
this point Jesus also explained to Brother Hagin, "The devil, Satan
himself, doesn't do all the work of the devil. He is like the captain
of the hosts. Demons and evil spirits do his work in the Earth.
They influence people. They speak to people. They try to get
people to steal, to commit adultery, any and everything that is wrong."
Jesus
went on, "On the other hand, Angels, who are good spirits, are also on
Earth. If you'll tell them to go cause the money to come, they will go
and influence people for good - just as evil spirits go and influence people
for bad."
So
we have seen how Jesus instructed Brother Hagin from the Bible that we must
first claim whatever it is we need or want.
Then He revealed that
Satan must be told to release our finances.
He also made it clear that
we are to tell the angels to cause that money to come.
However, it is
important to point out here that Jesus did not say that we are to tell
the angels to "bring the money."
They cannot bring money to
us.
Angels
will, however, influence people and circumstances in such a way to cause the money to
come to us.

Chapter
Four: Stay in Faith by Continually Thanking the Lord It's
Working
This
is the final thing Jesus instructed Brother Hagin to do in order to cause
the money to come.
He told him
that once he claimed what he needed or wanted, binding Satan and loosing the
angels, that was to be the end of the
matter. There is no need for further praying, as in pleading or petitioning.
If Brother Hagin thought about the situation, he was to simply stay in faith
by
saying, "Thank God it's working!"
Even
as Jehoshaphat and the Children of Israel gave praise unto the Lord causing their enemies
to fight amongst themselves destroying one another, when we
give praise for what we believe, we, too, will end up gathering the spoils
of victory.
(2 Chronicles 20:20-25)
Unjustly
bound in prison and in stocks, the Apostle Paul and Silas sang praises to God in the midnight of their lives.
Their stocks were loosened and the prison doors were supernaturally opened.
(Acts 16:16-40)
So, too, our financial
prison doors will open
if we will do what Jesus instructed. Say, "Thank God it's working. Praise
the Lord, I claimed it, I bound the devil, I commissioned the angels to cause
it to come and it is working, in Jesus' Strong Name."
Man
is created in the image and likeness of God and is a natural born power seeker. God made him to be that way.
Anyone who desires to find financial power with God, who is willing to take
these steps including the prayer of praise and
worship, will find their
problem of giving and never properly receiving supernaturally resolved.
It
goes without saying that all sin and un-forgiveness must be repented of.

Chapter
Five: Faithfulness
to Your Local Church Is Essential to Prosperity
Keep
in mind that these four steps to abundance will only work for the one who is
faithful in tithes, faithful in offerings and faithful to fulfilling the
Great Commission in the Earth. This is done primarily by serving in
your local Church
under a local Pastor.
Christian
television viewing is no substitute for local Church involvement. It is to
be a
supplement only.
There
is no need to be involved with any of the many gimmicky, ridiculously unbiblical,
special offerings promoted by many of the Christian television networks or
bigger prosperity-based Ministries.
There is never a need
to be involved with the deception of "You must be one of the next one hundred callers to give $1,000 in the
next 10 minutes before the Holy Spirit leaves, in order for your home
to be paid off supernaturally."
That
is simply not true, for the Holy Spirit will never leave you.
"For
He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up
nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in
any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold
on you)! [Assuredly not!]" (Hebrews 13:5 AMP)
There
is never a need to yield to the pressure of "You must get up and give
right now while this special financial yoke-breaking double anointing is flowing or
you'll be missing the chance of a lifetime to get out of poverty."
That
is simply not true.
There
is no such thing as a poverty-destroying "special financial yoke-breaking double anointing"
in the Bible.
Poverty is a curse of the law found in Deuteronomy 28:17 and
Christ has already redeemed you from that curse.
"Christ
has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us; for it
is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree: that the blessing of
Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might
receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." (Galatians 3:13-14)
Christian
television executives should be ashamed of the hired
financial gunslingers they put on the air to intimidate and spook people
into giving with dishonest, make-believe "anointings."
Popular
prosperity Preachers should be ashamed of the things they do, say and
cooperate with to
manipulate people into excessive giving.
Offerings such as
these are
man-inspired and not God-inspired. Many are demon-inspired.
When gimmickry, high pressure techniques
and deceptive offerings such as these are occurring, if you will listen down inside
you will realize the Holy Spirit is giving you a red light about becoming
involved.
To
override that red light is to disobey
the Holy
Spirit and that never leads to success.
The most important thing
any of us as Christians can do with our finances is to
support the fulfillment of the Great Commission, the preaching of repentance
and salvation, healing and deliverance primarily through our local Churches
and under our local Pastors.
Seek
God. Find where He wants you to
be. He has a Church for you. Stay there and support that
work.
'But
now God hath set the members every one of them in the Body, as it hath
pleased Him." (1 Corinthians 12:18)
If
there is no local Church within driving distance for you, God will allow you
to temporarily pay your tithes and offerings elsewhere by the leading
of the Holy Spirit. Take upon yourself the responsibility of praying a
Word-based Pastor and Church into your area. God will honor your
faith. Everyone needs to be in a local Church.
"Not
forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day
approaching." (Hebrews 10:25)
"Obey
them that have the rule over you (Pastors), and submit yourselves: for they
watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it
with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you."
(Hebrews 13:17)

The
Great Big Deception of "The Bigger Return"
Many
skip out on local Church involvement substituting Christian television
viewing and sending their tithes and offerings to the Christian networks and the big
prosperity Ministries. Many do so wrongly believing that if they pay their tithes
and offerings to a
bigger Ministry they will get a bigger return.
Many Christian TV
executives and big prosperity-based Ministries know their supporters are
wrongly doing this with their tithes, but most never correct them.
That
is tantamount to stealing tithes from the local Churches around the country
and around the world.
Many
Christian TV executives and big prosperity-based Ministries know their
supporters are wrongly believing the lie of "the bigger the Ministry I
give to, the bigger the return I get."
They
hardly, if ever at all, correct
people for this type of wrong thinking because this error is making them extremely wealthy.
Actually,
some
of them directly promote the unbiblical error of "the bigger the
Ministry you give to, the bigger your rate of return."
The
most popular of the prosperity Preachers recently boasted that his Ministry
was not only worth one billion dollars, but that he himself is a personal
billionaire. Why would someone reveal something like that so
brazenly?
The
answer is because they know that people wrongly believe the lie "the
bigger the Ministry I give to, the bigger the return I
get."
What
better way to keep people giving into your Ministry than to let them know
you are the biggest and the best of them all?
As
Dr. Hagin was often heard to say, "It would be funny if it wasn't so
pathetic."
Falling
victim to such lies and deception eventually leaves the givers wondering why they themselves are not prospering
the way they are being led to believe they will.
It
is exactly these types of error, and more, that moved the Holy Spirit to have
Prophet Hagin call in for correction that day in 1999 approximately two
dozen of the most popular and prosperous prosperity Preachers.
Being
faithful to your local Church and your local Pastor with tithes,
offerings and commitment is essential to
your Biblical prosperity. God will not bless the rebellious.
Do not be fooled by the gimmickry and
covetousness displayed on Christian television and by most of the bigger name prosperity
Preachers.
At the risk of being redundant I will say it again. The
tithe belongs to the local Church and the local Pastor.
This is not to say that we should not send offerings to other
legitimate, well-balanced Gospel Ministries. That, of course, is permissible and profitable.
The additional 5-Fold Ministries of Apostle,
Prophet, Evangelist and Teacher
require strong financial support from the Body of Christ as well. Let the Holy Spirit guide you.
However, all of our tithes and at least some of our
offerings belong to our local
Churches.
The
dream God puts in the hearts of local Pastors to reach their communities and
the world cannot be fulfilled when their people rob them of tithes and send
them to bigger Ministries wrongfully "believing" for a bigger return.
That
is wrong motivation for Christian giving and God will not honor it. It
must be repented of.
Far
too many Pastors have given up on their God-given dreams, closing their
Church doors because their people were being deceived by Christian
television and big prosperity Ministries to send their tithes to
them.
That
is robbing Almighty God.
Those
TV Ministers may as well knock off a liquor store on
the way home from the TV studio.
Heaven alone will tell how many local
Churches were forced to close their doors because Christian television
executives and popular prosperity Preachers were robbing them of tithes and
offerings.
"Will
a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed Me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed
Thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have
robbed Me, even this whole nation. Bring (not send) ye all the tithes into
the storehouse (the local Church, not the Christian TV Preachers), that
there may be meat in Mine house, and prove Me now herewith sayeth the Lord
of Hosts, if I will not open you the windows of Heaven, and pour you out a
blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." (Malachi
3:8-10)
Have
you been wondering why the windows of Heaven have not been opened unto
you? Examine yourself in these areas. Do you bring your tithes
to your local Church and Pastor? Or do you send your tithes to the big
name Christian television Preachers in the name of "giving to get"
only?
Have you been hindering your Pastor's God-given dream by sending
his tithes to your favorite TV Preacher or Christian television network?
"Here
men that die (Pastors) receive tithes; but there He (Jesus) receiveth them of
Whom it is witnessed that He liveth." (Hebrews 7:8)
God
promises if you will repent and be faithful to apply the few things you have learned here today from
the Bible, He will indeed finally be able to prosper you and He will relieve your frustration.
"His
lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been
faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter
thou into the joy of the Lord." (Matthew 25:23)
"He
that is faithful in that which is least, is (will be made) faithful also in
much..." (Luke 16:10)

Chapter
Six: What Will Become of the Disobedient Prosperity Preachers?
We
started this book by telling you how in early 1999 Dr. Kenneth E. Hagin
called a convocation of approximately two dozen of the most popular and
prosperous prosperity Preachers.
At
that time he corrected them, as a Prophet of
God, notifying them they were
running the risk of being judged unless they corrected their extreme,
unbiblical prosperity errors.
He
reminded them that every one of the extreme prosperity Preachers of the
Voice of Healing Revival of the 1940s and 1950s died prematurely because of
their false prosperity doctrine.
He reminded those present that day in Broken Arrow
that many of them were heading in the same
direction.
He
reminded them prosperity is indeed the will of
God, but not the way it was
being taught by most of them.
As
expressed throughout this book, the Prophet's warning of pending judgment
was not heeded.
For the most part, it was
flatly ignored - particularly by the most popular prosperity Preachers.
In
his February 1959 vision, which was also referenced earlier in this book, Jesus
revealed to Brother Hagin something very sobering concerning what would happen to
individuals who would not receive his Prophet's Office when
Jesus sent him to bring them a word of warning and pending judgment.
Again,
Jesus said to him that judgment must begin in the House
of God, and if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the sinner and
ungodly appear? If the Church (or its leaders) won't accept this (Prophet's)
Ministry, then they wouldn't accept His Word.
Understand
this, Reader. Jesus Himself said to reject the Office of the Prophet is to reject
God's Word.
Jesus went on to
say that if a Pastor (or any Church leader) would not accept this message,
then judgment would come on him.
"If
I give you a message for an individual, a Church or a Pastor, and they won't
accept it, you will not be responsible. They will be
responsible. There will be Ministers who don't accept it and will fall
dead in the pulpit," Jesus said.
Nine
years prior to this, on Saturday, September 2, 1950, Brother Hagin received an
earlier visitation of Jesus Christ. In that vision, Jesus told Brother Hagin that
many of His Ministers die prematurely because they insist upon living in His
permissive will and not in His perfect will.
As
was the case with the disobedient prosperity Preachers of the 1940s and
1950s who died prematurely, Jesus warned the present-day excessive
prosperity Preachers that they will travel the same road of tragedy and premature
death if they continue to reject the merciful warning of His Prophet in
1999.
However,
any one of them at any time can indeed repent and extend their lives, even
as King Hezekiah repented and extended his life, having been warned of
premature death by God's
Prophet Isaiah. (Isaiah 38:1-6)
One
does not have to be a Prophet to understand what Jesus meant when He spoke
to Prophet Hagin, informing him that any who rejected the Lord bringing them
a word of warning through him, including the disobedient prosperity
Preachers, would ultimately be judged, and that quite severely.
"He
that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed,
and that without remedy." (Proverbs 29:1)

Pray
That Church History Will Not Repeat Itself
Without
repentance the disobedient prosperity Preachers are soon to be judged, even
as the disobedient Voice of Healing prosperity Preachers were all judged.
They have been given many warnings
and many merciful years to repent.
You
may be wondering how you can pray for these errant prosperity Preachers -
some whom we love and once trusted.
Some
whom we watched as the Holy Spirit even used the U.S. Senate to try to bring
them back on course.
First,
you may ask God to grant them wisdom that they might even more clearly see their
error.
"Wisdom
is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: with all thy getting get
understanding." (Proverbs 4:7)
Second,
you may ask God to grant them Godly sorrow for pridefully and selfishly
rejecting Jesus' solemn warning through His Prophet that day in 1999. The
Apostle Paul said that Godly sorrow will work repentance in the hearts of
the sinful and they just may yield themselves to it.
God
will not force them to repent, but He will grant them sorrow. It is up to
them from there.
"For
Godly sorrow worketh repentance to deliverance not to be repented of: but
the sorrow of the world worketh death." (2 Corinthians 7:10)
Finally,
you may also ask the Lord
to grant each one of them what our Pastor, Dr. Lester Sumrall, referred to as
"The Gift of Repentance" for their deliberately untruthful but
highly prosperous-to-them doctrines.
"And
the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to
teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God
peradventure will give them (the gift of) repentance to the acknowledging of
the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the
devil, who are taken captive by him at his will." (2 Timothy 2:24-26)
Let
us remain hopeful that through the Prophet's 1999 solemn warning of coming
judgment and our prayers for God to grant them wisdom, sorrow and the gift
of repentance, they will finally yield to the Holy Spirit and check
themselves before they finally and irreparably wreck themselves.
There
is always the hope that some will repent.
This
is why our loving benevolent Father warns and warns and warns before
ultimately allowing judgment.
"...when Thy judgments are in the Earth, the inhabitants
of the world will learn righteousness." (Isaiah 26:9)
"Now
I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offenses
contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them."
(Romans 16:17)
"Against
an elder (spiritual leader) receive not an accusation, but before two or
three witnesses. Them (spiritual leaders) that sin rebuke before all, that
others may also fear. I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ,
and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one
before another, doing nothing by partiality." (1 Timothy 5:19-21)
